Daily Post Book Review

Posted by GERHARD EGGER on Monday, July 23, 2012,

Thank you Ingrid and the Daily Post for the great book review in Saturdays paper. We would have loved to have been able to get more images of the people that contributed, however just getting the recipes was at times an arduous task. We have now had reviews in 2 major and three local papers! Don't forget if you wish to support the Te Whakapono Health Trust, you need to purchase through one of the outlets that is selling on their behalf.

Sales going well

Posted by GERHARD EGGER on Tuesday, June 26, 2012,
It is now two months since the books arrived and we are very pleased with the way sales are going. Many have purchased an initial copy and then come back for more as they wish to give them away as presents and the feedback we are getting has been great.

As we have previously mentioned the Te Whakapono Health Trust are selling them to raise funds for a new dialysis machine (these machine have a 5 year life span), it is great to see that this small group of volunteers have raised in the vicinity...

The New Zealand Herald

Posted by GERHARD EGGER on Sunday, May 20, 2012,

The New Zealand Herald has done it again, winning the Canon Newspaper of the Year 2012. Congratulations. It is no wonder they are highly regarded - check out the article in the Weekend supplement by Life Editor, Catherine Smith. "Under the volcano" page D6. Thank you Catherine, for the support you have shown. Being an independently published book, without the resources of a big publishing house behind us, we appreciate the exposure.

Re Master Chef, we were close

Posted by GERHARD EGGER on Tuesday, April 10, 2012,

Well we were close, on Sundays Master Chef Masterclass they chose to make a soup, but not the Kumara and Blue Vein, instead the show had a French flavour, no problem, French Onion Soup is also in our book. Any guesses for next week?

Master Chef New Zealand advance copy

Posted by GERHARD EGGER on Thursday, April 5, 2012,
It is all a bit amusing, we've decided Masterchef New Zealand must have had an advance copy of the book - two weeks ago they served Coconut Prawns (pge 17) at a cocktail party on HMS Canterbury and this week they served an old french classic of Lamb Navarin (pge 185)!
What will they cook next? Perhaps the Creamy Kumara Blue Vein Soup on page 104?

Cancer Fundraiser

Posted by GERHARD EGGER on Saturday, March 17, 2012,
Rotorua's McDowell's Real Estate ran a breakfast auction to raise money for the Child Cancer Foundation on friday morning. We had given one of only two copies (the first copy off the printers) to be auctioned. Really delighted to hear that the book was put up as the first item and went for $170.00! Thank you to the highest bidder and congratulations to Kylie Douglas and the team from the Professionals for hosting such a successful event.

Thank you to the team at TV Rotorua, Hana, Kiri and Co., for their time this morning, Henri and I were invited on to the City News show to talk about the book. We will upload the show onto the website once it has been edited.

The other great news is that we have received notification from the shipping company that the book is now on its way, there had been a delay due to fog in Hong Kong. We still don't yet know what effect the stikes in Auckland will have, but will keep the blog updated. Hopi...

Posted by GERHARD EGGER on Tuesday, December 13, 2011,

It was with great delight that yesterday (12 December) we were able to have the book finished and on its way to Image Centre in Auckland for prepress, from there the files will go to 1010 Printing in Hong Kong. We have managed to meet the deadline for an early March delivery.
Many thanks must go to Shona for her editing, proof reading and in valuable advise and also to Henri's sister Amanda for her 11th hour proof reading.
